Frequently Asked Questions

The Mariner office is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am until 4 pm, Central time. {Some exceptions may occur on holidays or weekends during non-peak season.}

Feel free to browse our rentals and check the calendar for availability. Once you have selected a property with available dates, you may send in an “Inquire or Request a Reservation” form online, or you may call the office directly at 850-492-1122. Emails and voicemails are generally returned the same day during business hours. After hours and on Sunday, your reply will arrive on the next business day.

The short answer: must be 25 or over; 25% deposit by MasterCard, Visa or Discover at the time of booking; the balance is charged to the card on file 30 days prior to arrival; no refunds inside 30 days unless a mandatory evacuation of the island is ordered. If you would like to make smaller payments along the way, feel free to contact the office and authorize those charges at your convenience.

We encourage all guests to protect their vacation investment with travel insurance. Your bank or credit card issuer may offer this benefit; other organizations such as AAA, AARP, etc., offer travel insurance for their members as well. You may also purchase travel insurance online from independent provider of your choice. For more information or to compare options: ConsumersAdvocate.org’s Top 10 Travel Insurance Providers

Our vacation rentals are available to rent for seven nights minimum. No discount or refund is offered for late arrivals or early departures. During our peak season, which is the week before Memorial Day through the week of Labor Day, rentals are from Saturday to Saturday only. Outside of that time, rentals may be available with other start/end days, but still must be seven nights. Contact the rental office for more information.

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm on your day of arrival, and check-out time is 10:00 am on your day of departure.

During our peak season, early check-in is not available. If you arrive early, please stop by the office to obtain a parking pass. You are welcome to enjoy the pool and beach until your unit is available. Public restrooms are available for changing into your vacation attire. Check out our Local Attractions and Activities page if you are looking for more options of things to do in the area.

In order to serve all guests to the highest standards, please do not ask housekeeping if a particular unit is ready, or if items may be placed in units. Our housekeeping staff report to different supervisors and may not be aware of additional tasks to be completed in units. Even though they may have exited a unit, other steps may still be required in the cleaning and maintenance process. Thank you for your cooperation; we promise to get you in as soon as possible!

Absolutely! If you have groceries to be delivered on the day of your arrival, make sure the delivery is scheduled after 3:00 pm unless you have a cooler with ice for storage of cold items.

If you order from Amazon, be sure to include your name, phone number, and unit number with your order! It helps if you add your phone number next to your name so it shows up on the shipping label. Then add c/o The Mariner with the unit number on the second address line. This way, if a package arrives for you during your stay, the office can easily identify you and text or call to let you know your package has arrived.

Unlike a hotel which is typically used for showering and sleeping only, The Mariner is where you live well and play hard for a week. During your stay at The Mariner, this is your home away from home, and we expect you to treat it as such – that means tidying up throughout the week, washing your dishes, etc., and a few small tasks on your way out.

Because of the high volume of renters in the summer, we count on you to do just a few things at the end to help us get ready for our next guests: take sheets and pillow cases off the beds, pile dirty towels on the bathroom floor, take out all the trash including bathrooms and bedrooms, empty your refrigerator of perishable food, then load and run the dishwasher.

Your condo is stocked with basic cookware, utensils, dishes, silverware, and drinkware. Dishwashers are installed in all units, as well as one courtesy dishwasher pod. If you will be cooking throughout the week, you will need to bring additional dishwashing detergent. A roll of paper towels and one garbage bag for the kitchen trash can will be provided at the beginning of your stay; if you think you will need more than that, pick some up on your grocery run.

Your bathrooms will have a starter roll of toilet paper in each and hotel soap for the sinks. You will need to provide your own toiletries and additional tp.

All bedding is supplied, as well as bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. You will need to bring your own beach towels.

Some units have washing machines and dryers; however, most do not. We have coin-operated washers and dryers on the second floor by all elevators, and on the fourth floor by the east and west elevators. You may exchange cash for quarters in the office during business hours. In either case, you will need to bring your own laundry supplies.

The sun is glorious, but can be a little exuberant in its affections. Bring hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen; apply often.

The good news is, if you do you can order ahead of time online.
